Privacy Policy
The short version: FERA has no accounts and no servers that hold your data. What you log, including your cycle, meals, supplements and anything read from Apple Health, is stored on your iPhone and stays there. There are no analytics or advertising tools in the app, we don’t track you across apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
What FERA stores on your device
- Your quiz answers: life stage, activity level, height and weight, diet and goals
- Meals, drinks and supplements you log, and meals you save as usuals
- Cycle dates and phase check-ins, if you choose to add them
- Sleep check-ins, workouts, streaks, achievements and a short daily history used for your weekly and all-time progress
This information is saved in the app’s local storage on your iPhone. It is not uploaded to FERA or to anyone else, and there is no cloud sync. Deleting the app, or clearing its data, erases it permanently.
Apple Health
Connecting Apple Health is optional. If you connect it, FERA reads your menstrual cycle dates, last night’s sleep, today’s workouts, steps and active energy, and your latest weight. FERA only reads; it never writes to Apple Health.
- Data read from Apple Health stays on your iPhone and is used only to personalise your plan inside the app.
- It is never sent to our servers or any third party, never used for advertising or marketing, and never sold.
- You can stop syncing in FERA at any time, and revoke access in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → FERA.
Barcode scanning
Scanning a barcode uses your iPhone’s camera to read the barcode on a package. The camera view is only open while you are scanning. FERA does not take a photograph, does not record video, and nothing from the camera leaves your iPhone.
- The digits of the barcode are sent to Open Food Facts, a free and open food database, which sends back the product name and nutrition facts. Open Food Facts receives the barcode and your device’s IP address. Nothing about you, your cycle, your health or what you have logged is sent with it.
- Product information FERA gets back is stored on your iPhone so the same item does not need looking up again.
- If a product is not in the database, you can add its details yourself. Those stay on your iPhone.
- Product data from Open Food Facts is made available by its contributors under the Open Database License.
- You can decline camera access and still use every other part of FERA. iPhone Settings → FERA lets you change it later.
Subscriptions and payments
FERA Pro is purchased through Apple. Apple processes the payment; FERA never sees your card or Apple ID details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription service, to confirm whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated subscriber ID and your App Store purchase history for FERA, along with basic device and app information needed to provide that service, and gives us aggregate subscription reports such as trial starts and renewals. It never receives your health, cycle, food or quiz data. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.
Fonts
The app loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When it does, Google receives your device’s IP address and browser information, as it does for any website that uses Google Fonts. No health or personal data is included. See Google’s privacy policy.
Links to brands and partner discounts
FERA suggests third-party-tested supplement brands. Some brand links are affiliate links (currently Momentous, and Thorne through the Aspire platform), which means FERA may earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. Brands cannot pay for a higher ranking. When you tap a brand link you leave FERA and go to that retailer’s website, where their privacy policy and tracking apply. FERA does not share any of your data with these brands.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect your name, email, phone number or location.
- We don’t put analytics, advertising or tracking software in the app. The only usage figures we see are RevenueCat’s aggregate subscription reports.
- We don’t sell, rent or share your data, and we don’t share cycle, health or nutrition information with advertisers, data brokers, employers or insurers.
Teens
FERA is intended for people aged 13 and over. It includes a teen life stage, and we encourage anyone under 18 to use it with a parent or guardian and to talk to a healthcare provider before starting any supplement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and because FERA stores data only on the device, we hold no personal information about any user.
Your choices and rights
You are in control of your data at all times. You can edit your answers, clear your log, disconnect Apple Health, or delete everything by deleting the app. Because we don’t hold your personal or health data on our systems, there is nothing on our side to access, correct or delete, but you can contact us with any privacy question or request, including under the laws of California, Washington (My Health My Data Act), the EU or the UK. Subscription and purchase records are held by Apple and RevenueCat; you can manage your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
Security
Your data is protected by your iPhone’s own security, including your passcode and device encryption. Keeping your device locked is the best way to keep your FERA data private.
Changes to this policy
If we change how FERA handles data, we will update this page and the effective date before the change takes effect, and describe material changes in the app.
